Guizhou Huangguoshu Waterfall

 

Huangguoshu Waterfall, namely Huangguoshu Waterfall. 

In ancient times, it is known as Baishui River Waterfall, also known as "Huangguoshu" waterfall or "Huangguoshu" waterfall. The myth of Huangguoshu Waterfall has been spread among the people of Guizhou since ancient times. The name of Huangguoshu Waterfall comes from the tree bearing "yellow fruit" in this fairy story. 

Located in Zhenning Buyi and Miao Autonomous County, Anshun City, Guizhou Province, China, it belongs to the Baishui River section of the lower reaches of the Kobu River, a tributary of the Nanpanjiang River in the Pearl River system. It is the largest first-class waterfall in Huangguoshu Waterfall Group and one of the world-famous waterfalls. 

It is famous for its great flood. 

The height of the waterfall is 77.8 meters, of which the main waterfall is 67 meters high; the waterfall is 101 meters wide, of which the top of the main waterfall is 83.3 meters wide. 

Huangguoshu Waterfall is a typical waterfall of erosion crack in karst landform. 

The fame of Huangguoshu Waterfall began with Xu Xiake, a traveler in the Ming Dynasty. Through the travel and spread of celebrities, it has become a well-known scenic spot.

About a thousand years ago, officials and bandits colluded, the people were poor, the local natives could not stand heavy corvee and heavy taxes, and a large-scale uprising broke out. 

They used Huangguoshu Shenlong Cave as a military stronghold against officials and bandits, but the cruel war forced the indigenous minorities to a dead end, the uprising failed, and the local indigenous peoples were trapped in the cave and had to look for another exit deep inside the cave. 

Many days later, everyone found that there was no exit in the cave. In the midst of despair, a Buddhist disciple of an indigenous minority found the statue of Dharma in the cave. He immediately knelt down to Dharma and sincerely prayed for blessings. His actions infected everyone, and he hoped that Dharma could ensure that everyone could escape this scourge. Suddenly, heaven and earth shook in the cave, boulders fell, and all the officials and bandits who chased them were buried here. 

At the same time, a new exit appeared on the side of Dharma, and all the natives were able to escape through the new exit. 

In order to thank the Dharma incarnation for saving his life, everyone knelt down here for three days and three nights. 

Since then, indigenous minorities will come here mobike, and often come here to make a wish.
