The king of money shoots the tide
Qian Wang Shechao is a folklore of Zhejiang Province.
The tide of the Qiantang River has always been very large, the tide is both high and the impact of the tide is fierce, so the dikes on both sides of the Qiantang River have always been repaired on this side and collapsed on the other side.
"the Yellow River repairs a bucket of gold every day, and the Qianjiang River repairs a bucket of silver."
At that time, the disaster that the tide brought to the people could be imagined from this sentence.
By the end of the Tang Dynasty, there was a king of Wu Yue named Qian Kui, who was extremely brave. at that time, most people called him the "king of money".
When King Qian was in charge of Hangzhou, all kinds of things were easy to do, but the seawall of the Qiantang River could not be repaired.
Because it was just about to be repaired, and the tide came twice a day and night, there was simply no way to build the seawall.
Therefore, the people under King Qian were very anxious and were afraid of losing his temper, so they had no choice but to report to King Qian, "King, this seawall is not going to be repaired, it will never be repaired."
Because there is a tide god in the Qiantang River against us, and when we build the seawall almost, he stirs up the storm, surges up the tide and collapses our seawall. "
Hearing this, the king of Qian was so angry that his beard stood on end, and his eyes stared like bronze, and he snapped, "bark!"
You useless guys!
Why not drag that tide god up and kill him? "
His men said hurriedly:
"he can't, he's a tide god, living with the Dragon King in the sea!
We can't go to him.
What's more, when he came, he was rolling with the tide, all in the tide; we mortals can neither see him, nor can we catch him.
Even if people take advantage of the iron boat to look for it, as soon as they hit the tide, they will be swallowed up. "
When King Qian heard this, his eyes sparkled and he roared:
"Bah!
Should we just let this little tide god misbehave?
No! "
King Qian thought for a moment and said:
"well, let me subdue him myself.
On August 18, ten thousand archers will be gathered for me to go to the riverside. I will go and see this tide god! "
Why do you think Qian Wang must choose August 18th?
It turns out that August 18 is the birthday of the tide god, and the tide is the highest on this day, and the water is even more ferocious; and on this day, the tide god will run on the tide on a white horse.
When August 18 arrived, a big king's platform was built by the Qiantang River. King Qian went to the stage early in the morning to watch the movement and waited for the arrival of the tide god.
However, the ten thousand elite archers selected from the local area were uneven one after another, and when the king of Qian saw that he was too slow, he ordered them to immediately gather to the riverside and line up.
At this time, a general knelt down and said:
"King!
When the archers ran to the river, they had to pass through a precious mountain, where the road was narrow and could only be passed by one person, not to mention those who had to climb up and down the mountain, so it came slowly. "
When the king heard this, he shouted:
"Ah, Bah, won't this delay the great event of destroying the god of tide?"
He immediately jumped on the foal and flew to the gem mountain. As soon as he saw it, he did.
He hurriedly ran to the top of the mountain and looked around and saw a crack in the southern half of the mountain.
So he sat down, put his feet on the crack in the mountain, and gave him a hard kick, ha!
The mountain was unexpectedly pushed open to him, and a wide road appeared in the middle.
When those officers and soldiers saw it, everyone cheered and cheered!
Before long, all the archers crossed the road and gathered by the river.
From then on, this place is called "pedaling Kailing", and the king's huge footprints are still deeply stuck on the stone wall to this day.
King Qian rode quickly around again, and by the time he got to the riverside king's stage again, ten thousand elite soldiers had already lined up, all valiantly and arrogantly holding bows and arrows, looking at the river.
The people along the Qianjiang River have suffered from the disasters of the tide. Who is not happy and who does not try their best to build a dike and control the water?
Now I heard that the king of money shot the tide god, all competed to watch the game and cheer. Every house was closed and everyone went out. The riverbank, which is dozens of miles long, was crowded with people.
Seeing this momentum, the king of Qian became more daring, and hurriedly asked someone to bring pen and ink and wrote two lines of poetry:
"to be the god of the tide and the water house.
Qiantang also lent money to the city. "
He immediately threw the poem into the river and scolded loudly:
"Hey, the tide god has listened!
If you say yes, don't bring in the tide!
If the tide is still coming, don't blame my men for being ruthless! "
When the people on the shore and the archers heard this, they all cheered, and the sound was like the roar of thunder.
Everyone looked nervously at the river, watching the movement.
But the tide god did not pay attention to the king's warning, for a moment, but saw a white line far away, flying fast, faster and fiercer, and when it came near, it was like an exploding iceberg and an overturned snowdrift, rushing towards the king's platform.
When the king of Qian saw this, he gave a loud roar and ordered: "release the arrow!"
As soon as his words fell, he shot out the arrow of "old man" first.
At this time, only ten thousand elite soldiers, ten thousand arrows fired in unison, shot directly at the tide.
The people stamped their feet and clapped their hands and shouted loudly to cheer.
Ten thousand arrows were fired, another ten thousand arrows were fired; ten thousand arrows were shot, and another ten thousand arrows were fired. The "old man" shot 40,000 arrows all of a sudden, forcing the tide to rush towards the shore.
King Qian also ordered: "pursuit!"
The tide had to zigzag to the southwest and finally disappeared without a trace.
Therefore, to this day, as soon as the tide reaches six and the edge of the tower is almost gone, and in front of the Liuhe Pagoda, the river flows in a zigzag way, like the word "Zhi", so people call this place "Zhijiang".
From then on, the seawall has to be built.
In order to commemorate the achievements of King Qian in shooting the tide, the people called the seawall by the river "Qiantang".
